Preparation of Salad Base

Chop the Romaine
Wash and dry the romaine lettuce thoroughly. Chop it into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.

Grate the Parmesan
Using a grater, finely grate the Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and set aside for later use.
Making the Croutons

Prepare the Sourdough Bread
Cut the sourdough bread slices into cubes.

Season the Croutons
In a mixing bowl, combine the cubed sourdough bread, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss until the bread is evenly coated.

Bake the Croutons
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the seasoned bread cubes on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, stirring halfway through.
Assembling the Salad

Combine Ingredients
In the bowl with the chopped romaine, add the Caesar dressing and toss well to coat the lettuce evenly.

Add Cheese and Croutons
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the salad and add the freshly baked croutons. Toss gently to combine.
