Pasta Preparation

Cook the Pasta
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Add the Cheese
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the aged cheddar and Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Combine and Bake

Mix Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well combined. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.

Prepare the Topping
In a small bowl, combine the panko bread crumbs and melted butter. Mix well and sprinkle evenly over the macaroni and cheese.

Bake
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the mac and cheese for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
