Directions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and thinly slice the potatoes using a mandoline or a sharp knife. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Make the Cream Mixture

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Stir in heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Bring to a gentle simmer, then remove from heat.

  4. 4

    Layer the Ingredients

In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle half of the grated Gruyère cheese. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and Gruyère.

  5. 5

    Bake

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
