Fettuccini and Bolognese Sauce
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Bolognese Sauce
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions, carrots, and celery. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- 2
- 3
Add Wine and Tomatoes
Pour in the red wine and let it simmer for a few minutes until reduced slightly. Then add the crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- 4
Simmer the Sauce
Lower the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. If it gets too thick, add a splash of water.
- 5
Finish with Milk
Stir in the milk and let it cook for an additional 10 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- 6
Cook the Fettuccini
While the sauce is simmering, cook the fresh fettuccini according to package instructions in a pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 7
Combine and Serve
Toss the cooked fettuccini with the Bolognese sauce until well coated. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil.
