Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Use your hands to mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Use your thumb to make a slight indent in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half. Optionally, toast them on the grill or in a toaster for added texture.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, pickles, and any desired condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise).

  3. 7

    Finish Assembly

Place the top half of the bun on each assembled burger. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
