For the Salmon Patties

For Serving

Method

Prepare the Salmon Patties

  1. 1

    Chop the Salmon

Finely chop the fresh salmon fillets using a sharp knife or pulse in a food processor until coarsely chopped. Be careful not to over-process.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped salmon, parsley, green onion, breadcrumbs, egg, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

  3. 3

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and gently shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

Cook the Patties

  1. 4

    Heat the Grill/Pan

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly grease the grill or pan with cooking spray or a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 5

    Cook the Patties

Carefully place the salmon patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the patties are cooked through and have a nice golden-brown crust. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare Buns and Toppings

While the salmon patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half. Prepare the lettuce, tomato, and red onion for assembling the burgers.

  2. 7

    Assemble Burgers

Place a salmon patty on the bottom half of each burger bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and a dollop of tartar sauce. Place the top half of the bun on each burger.
