Fried Goat Cheese

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Goat Cheese

Slice the goat cheese log into 1/2 inch rounds and place them in the freezer for about 15 minutes to firm up.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs seasoned with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Bread the Cheese

Remove the goat cheese rounds from the freezer. Dredge each round in flour, dip in egg, and coat with breadcrumbs. Set aside on a plate.

  4. 4

    Fry the Cheese

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded goat cheese rounds and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  5. 5

    Make the Vinaigrette

In a small bowl, whisk together sriracha, fresh orange juice, honey, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Dish

On a plate, arrange a bed of arugula. Top with the fried goat cheese rounds and drizzle with the sriracha-citrus vinaigrette before serving.
