Bruschetta Topping
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Topping
Dice the ripe tomatoes and chop the fresh basil leaves. Thinly slice the red onion. In a mixing bowl, combine the tomatoes, basil, red onion, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together gently until well mixed. Set aside to let the flavors meld.
- 2
Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice a baguette into 1-inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and drizzle with a little olive oil. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
- 3
Assemble the Bruschetta
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven. Spoon a generous amount of the tomato basil mixture onto each slice of toasted bread. Drizzle with additional balsamic vinegar if desired.
- 4
Serve
Serve immediately while the bread is warm and crispy. Enjoy your Beefsteak Bruschetta!
