Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

In a large pot, cook the diced Berryman Farms bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pot.

  2. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

In the same pot, add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the bacon drippings. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Cook Potatoes

Add the diced potatoes to the pot and stir to combine. Pour in the chicken broth, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

  4. 4

    Add Clams and Seasonings

Stir in the clams, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the clams are opened.

  5. 5

    Add Cream

Reduce the heat to low, and slowly stir in the heavy cream. Heat through without boiling.

  6. 6

    Serve

Ladle the clam chowder into bowls, top with crispy bacon, and serve with warm baguette on the side.
