Preparation

1

Prepare the Seafood

Rinse the mussels and clams under cold water to remove any sand or debris. Discard any that are open and do not close when tapped.

2

Chop Garlic and Herbs

Mince the garlic cloves and chop the parsley. Set aside.

3

Prepare the Baguette

Slice the baguette into 1-inch thick pieces and toast them until golden brown.

Cooking

4

Melt Butter and Sauté

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

5

Add Wine and Water

Pour in the white wine and water, then bring to a simmer.

6

Steam the Seafood

Add the rinsed mussels and clams to the pot. Cover and steam for 5-7 minutes until the shells open.

7

Add Herbs

Once the seafood is cooked, stir in the chopped parsley and thyme. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

8

Serve Hot

Ladle the mussels and clams into bowls with some of the broth. Serve with toasted baguette slices on the side.
