Filling and Crust

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Pie Crust

Place the pie crust in a pie dish and press it firmly to fit. Poke holes in the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling.

  3. 3

    Cook the Pancetta

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the diced pancetta until crispy. Remove from heat and let it drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Mix the Filling

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, salt, and pepper. Stir in the grated Gruyère cheese and cooked pancetta.

  5. 5

    Add Nutmeg

Add grated nutmeg to the egg mixture and mix well.

  6. 6

    Fill the Crust

Pour the filling mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the quiche is set and the top is golden brown.

  8. 8

    Cool and Serve

Allow the quiche to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
