Lasagna Preparation

1. Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Cook the Noodles

Boil lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

3. Prepare the Ricotta Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, fresh basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

4. Assemble the Lasagna

In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of Bolognese sauce. Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese, and then more Bolognese sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles and topping with remaining Bolognese sauce and mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle Parmigiano Reggiano on top.

5. Bake the Lasagna

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

6. Cool and Serve

Allow the lasagna to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
