Mocktail Base
Ginger Beer & Garnish
Method
Prepare Mocktail Base
- 1
Mix juices and sweetener
In a cocktail shaker or large measuring glass, combine 1 cup apple cider, 1/2 cup cranberry juice, 1/2 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice and 1 teaspoon maple syrup. Stir or shake gently until the maple syrup is fully dissolved and the mixture is uniform (about 10–15 seconds).
- 2
Taste and adjust
Taste the base and adjust sweetness or acidity: add up to an additional 1/2 teaspoon maple syrup if you prefer sweeter, or another 1/4 tablespoon lime juice for brighter acidity. Remember the ginger beer will add spice and effervescence.
Assemble & Serve
- 3
Fill a copper mug or highball glass with about 1 cup of cubed ice. Pour the prepared apple-cranberry base over the ice, leaving room for ginger beer (about 1 inch at the top).
- 4
Top with 4 oz chilled Goslings ginger beer. Pour gently to preserve carbonation and create a light layered effect. Give the drink one gentle stir (1–2 turns) to integrate.
- 5
Garnish: float 2 thin apple slices and 6 fresh cranberries on top. Add a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. If using, grate a light dusting (about 1/8 tsp) of ground cinnamon over the top or tuck a cinnamon stick into the mug for aroma.
- 6
Serve immediately while ginger beer is fizzy. Encourage guests to stir briefly before drinking to blend flavors that may settle.
