Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and cook until browned. Pour in marinara sauce, stir well, and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
- 2
Prepare the Ricotta Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, beaten egg, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 3
Cook the Lasagna Noodles
Boil lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and lay them flat on a clean surface to prevent sticking.
- 4
Assemble the Lasagna
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread 1/3 of the ricotta mixture, followed by 1/4 of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat this layering process until you have 4 layers, finishing with meat sauce and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- 5
Bake the Lasagna
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- 6
Serve
Allow the lasagna to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
