1. Decarboxylate Cannabis
Preheat your oven to 240°F (115°C). Spread the cannabis flower on a baking sheet and bake for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally. This process activates the THC.
2. Make Cannabutter
In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and add the decarboxylated cannabis. Simmer for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally. Strain the mixture through a cheesecloth into a bowl and let it cool.
3. Mix Wet Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the cannabutter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
4. Combine Dry Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
5. Combine and Add Chocolate Chips
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
6. Bake
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
7. Cool and Serve
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 20 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
