Prepare the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, Italian breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Shape and Cook the Meatballs
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Shape the mixture into 12 meatballs and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, or until cooked through.

Assemble the Meatball Sub
Place six meatballs on each toasted hoagie bun, spoon over marinara sauce, and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Melt the Cheese
Place the assembled sandwiches under a broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve
Remove from broiler, let cool slightly, and serve hot.
