Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The batter may be lumpy, and that's okay.

  4. 4

    Add Flavorings

If desired, gently fold in blueberries, sliced banana, or chocolate chips into the batter.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Heat the Pan

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.

  2. 6

    Cook the Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes, then flip and cook until the other side is golden brown, about 1-2 minutes more.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve warm with your choice of syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.
