Prep the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thick strips (about 1/4 inch wide) and soak them in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

Fry the Potatoes
Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a towel. Carefully add the potatoes in batches to the hot oil, frying them for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper to taste.

Serve and Enjoy
Serve the fries in a big basket and top with optional ingredients like shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, and a dollop of sour cream. Enjoy your Big Basket fries!
