Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a medium bowl, whisk together lime juice, fish sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and chili flakes. Add the flank steak to the marinade, ensuring it is fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the excess marinade. Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from the grill and allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Salad

While the steak is resting, in a large bowl, combine the mixed salad greens, sliced cucumber, halved cherry tomatoes, and thinly sliced red onion. Toss gently to combine.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Salad

Slice the grilled steak thinly against the grain. Arrange the salad mixture on plates and top with sliced steak. Garnish with chopped cilantro.
