Pecan Bourbon Bread Pudding

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the stale bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, large eggs, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the wet mixture over the torn bread pieces, ensuring that all the bread is soaked. Let it sit for about 15 minutes, allowing the bread to absorb the liquid.

  4. 4

    Add Pecans and Bourbon

Stir in the chopped pecans and bourbon into the soaked bread mixture, mixing gently to incorporate.

  5. 5

    Transfer to Baking Dish

Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and pour the bread pudding mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly.

  6. 6

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Serve Warm

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm, drizzled with caramel sauce and dusted with powdered sugar.
