Prime Ribeye and Sides

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribeye

Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Preheat your grill or skillet over high heat.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Drizzle olive oil over the steak and season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Place the ribeye on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (130°F for medium-rare).

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

While the steak is resting, prepare the mashed potatoes. In a pot, bring water to a boil and add the potatoes. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.

  6. 6

    Mash the Potatoes

Add butter and milk to the potatoes and mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. 7

    Prepare the Garnish Vegetable

Steam or sauté the garnish vegetable of your choice until tender.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the ribeye steak and serve alongside the creamy mashed potatoes and garnish vegetable.
