Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Remove the Prime New York Strip from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over high heat. Add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 3

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water for about 15-20 minutes or until tender. Drain and return to pot.

  2. 4

    Mash the Potatoes

Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper to the potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning as needed.

Vegetable Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and trim the asparagus. Peel and slice the carrots into rounds.

  2. 6

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Add asparagus and carrots, season with salt and pepper, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until tender.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

Serve the sliced New York Strip alongside a generous scoop of mashed potatoes and sautéed seasonal vegetables.
