Preparing the Fries

Cutting the Potatoes
Wash the potatoes thoroughly. Cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick, to create French fries.

Drying the Potatoes
After soaking, drain the water and pat the potato strips dry with paper towels. Make sure they are as dry as possible.

Heating the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Frying the Potatoes
Carefully add a batch of the dried potato strips to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt.

Slicing the Hot Dogs
Once cooked, remove the hot dogs from the water (or grill) and let cool slightly. Slice each wiener into bite-sized pieces.
