Brownie Filling

Method

Preparation and Assembly

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brownie Batter

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt. Once combined, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract, then fold in the flour until just combined. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Phyllo Dough

Unroll the phyllo dough and lay it flat on a clean surface. Brush each sheet lightly with melted butter, stacking about 4-6 sheets on top of one another to create a sturdy base.

  3. 3

    Fill the Phyllo

Spoon the brownie batter into the center of the phyllo stack and fold the edges over the top, sealing it completely. Carefully flip the wrapped brownie over and place it seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Bake the Brownie

Brush the top of the phyllo-wrapped brownie with melted butter. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the phyllo is golden brown and crispy.

  5. 5

    Serve

Allow the brownie to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.
