Chicken

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, black pepper, and Nashville hot chicken seasoning. Add the chicken halves, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Honey Hot Sauce

In a small saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, and apple cider vinegar. Heat over medium heat until simmering. Stir well and remove from heat. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Fry the Chicken

Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). In a shallow dish, place flour. Remove chicken from marinade and dredge each piece in flour, shaking off excess. Fry chicken in batches for about 15-18 minutes until golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

  2. 4

    Coat with Honey Hot Sauce

Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the oil and let it drain on paper towels. While still hot, drizzle or brush the honey hot sauce generously over the chicken.

  3. 5

    Serve

Cut the chicken in half again if desired, and serve hot with extra honey hot sauce on the side.
