Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Cutting the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips resembling fries.

  2. 2

    Soaking the Potatoes

Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Heating the Oil

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Frying the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry. Fry them in batches for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels, then sprinkle with salt.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 5

    Seasoning the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks and season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 6

    Heating the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  3. 7

    Cooking the Steak

Add the steaks to the pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Preparing the Side Salad

  1. 8

    Preparing the Vegetables

Wash and dry the mixed greens, slice the cucumber, and halve the cherry tomatoes.

  2. 9

    Making the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 10

    Assembling the Salad

In a large bowl, combine the mixed greens, cucumber, and tomatoes. Drizzle with dressing and toss to combine.
