Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil the Shrimp

In a large pot, combine the water, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque.

  3. 3

    Cool the Shrimp

Remove the pot from heat and transfer the shrimp to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them chill for about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Drain and Dry

After chilling, drain the shrimp and pat them dry with paper towels.

Cocktail Sauce

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce

In a medium bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Stir until well combined.

  2. 6

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the cocktail sauce and adjust the heat by adding more hot sauce if desired.

Garnish

  1. 7

    Prepare the Garnish

Cut the lemon into wedges and wash the parsley sprigs.

  2. 8

    Plate the Shrimp

Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter. Serve with the cocktail sauce in a small bowl and garnish with lemon wedges and parsley.
