Method

Cheese Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese

Take the mozzarella cheese sticks out of the package and freeze them for about 30 minutes. This helps them hold their shape during frying.

Breading

  1. 2

    Prepare the Breading Station

Set up three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In the second bowl, whisk the eggs until well combined. In the third bowl, mix the bread crumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 3

    Bread the Cheese Sticks

Remove the mozzarella sticks from the freezer. Dip each stick first into the flour, coating it completely. Shake off any excess flour. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, ensuring it's fully coated. Finally, roll it in the seasoned bread crumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat with all cheese sticks.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of bread into it; if it sizzles and turns golden, the oil is ready.

  2. 5

    Fry the Mozzarella Sticks

Carefully place a few breaded mozzarella sticks into the hot oil. Do not overcrowd the pan. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Dipping Sauce

  1. 6

    Serve with Marinara Sauce

Warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat. Serve the hot mozzarella sticks with the marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
