Cooking the Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.

Cook Spaghetti
Add spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
Making the Lemon Cream Sauce

Combine Ingredients
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream, lemon juice, lemon zest, capers, salt, and black pepper. Stir until the mixture is heated through but not boiling.

Adjust Consistency
If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency.
Preparing Lemon Breadcrumbs

Toast Breadcrumbs
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add breadcrumbs, lemon zest, and salt. Cook, stirring frequently, until golden brown and crispy.

Add Parmesan
Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan cheese, mixing until well combined.
Combining Everything

Mix Pasta and Sauce
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti with the lemon cream sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.

Plate the spaghetti, top with lemon breadcrumbs, garnish with fresh basil leaves and additional grated Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
