Method

Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease four ramekins with butter or non-stick spray.

2

Melt the Chocolate and Butter

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.

3

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

4

Combine Ingredients

In the bowl with melted chocolate and butter, add the eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.

5

Fill Ramekins

Evenly distribute the batter into the prepared ramekins, filling them about 2/3 full to allow space for rising.

Baking

6

Bake

Place the ramekins in the preheated oven and bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center remains soft.

7

Cool Slightly

Remove the ramekins from the oven and let them cool for about 1 minute.

Serving

8

Serve

Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
