Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast is activated, add it to the flour mixture along with olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead Dough

On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Rise

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 7

    Shape Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  3. 8

    Add Sauce

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the surface.

  4. 9

    Add Cheese

Tear or slice the fresh mozzarella and distribute it evenly on top of the sauce.

  5. 10

    Add Sausage and Pepperoni

Crumble the fennel sausage over the cheese and arrange the pepperoni slices on top.

  6. 11

    Season

Sprinkle dried oregano and black pepper over the toppings for added flavor.

  7. 12

    Bake

Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  8. 13

    Cool and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve.
