Pork Shoulder Preparation

Slider Assembly

Method

Pork Shoulder Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Pork

Rub the pork shoulder with olive oil, salt, black pepper, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, and parsley. Ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed over the meat.

  2. 2

    Brown the Pork

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the pork shoulder on all sides until browned (about 3-4 minutes per side).

  3. 3

    Braise the Pork

Transfer the seared pork to a slow cooker. Pour chicken or vegetable broth around the pork. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.

  4. 4

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the cooker to soak up the juices.

Slider Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

Slice the slider buns in half horizontally and lightly toast them if desired.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Sliders

On the bottom half of each slider bun, place a generous portion of shredded pork. Top with a slice of provolone cheese and a few pickles. Place the top half of the bun on each slider.
