Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Cook Sauce

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 6

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 7

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 8

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to fit your pizza pan.

  3. 9

    Add Sauce

Spread a layer of the prepared sauce evenly over the rolled-out dough.

  4. 10

    Add Toppings

Layer fresh mozzarella slices, followed by pepperoni slices and sliced mushrooms on top of the sauce.

  5. 11

    Bake Pizza

Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.

  6. 12

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve hot.
