Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 4

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up as well.

  2. 5

    Shape Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out into your desired shape and thickness.

  3. 6

    Add Sauce and Toppings

Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the surface of the dough. Tear the fresh mozzarella into pieces and distribute it over the sauce. Finally, arrange the pepperoni slices on top.

  4. 7

    Bake Pizza

Transfer the assembled pizza to the preheated oven (or pizza stone). Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling and slightly browned.

  5. 8

    Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade pepperoni pizza!
