Method

Pizza Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Pizza Dough

If using homemade dough, prepare it according to your favorite recipe or use store-bought dough. Let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before stretching.

  2. 2

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to its highest setting, usually around 250°C (482°F), and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.

  3. 3

    Stretch the Dough

On a floured surface, stretch the pizza dough into a round shape, about 10-12 inches in diameter. Ensure the edges are slightly thicker for a crust.

  4. 4

    Add Tomato Sauce

Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the stretched pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

  5. 5

    Add Mozzarella Cheese

Tear the fresh mozzarella into small pieces and distribute them evenly on top of the tomato sauce.

  6. 6

    Season with Salt

Sprinkle the salt evenly over the cheese and sauce to enhance the flavors.

  7. 7

    Bake the Pizza

Carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for about 8-10 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  8. 8

Add Fresh Basil and Olive Oil

Once the pizza is out of the oven, scatter fresh basil leaves on top and drizzle with olive oil.

  9. 9

    Slice and Serve

Let the pizza cool for a minute before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade Margherita pizza!
