Method

Cheese Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mozzarella

Cut the fresh mozzarella into stick shapes, each about 1 cm thick. In a bowl, combine the mozzarella sticks with salt and water. Let them sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Breading Mixture

  1. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In one bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In a second bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, combine the bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.

  2. 3

    Bread the Mozzarella

Take each mozzarella stick from the water, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge it in flour, dip it in the beaten eggs, and coat it with the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure each stick is well coated and place them on a plate.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).

  2. 5

    Fry the Mozzarella Sticks

Carefully add the breaded mozzarella sticks in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 6

    Make the Marinara

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add crushed tomatoes, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
