Shrimp and Marinade
Method
Preparation of Marinade
- 1
Make the Marinade
In a medium bowl, mix together the Calabrian chili paste, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Marinating the Shrimp
- 2
Marinate the Shrimp
Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the marinade. Toss well to ensure all the shrimp are coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to permeate.
Skewering and Grilling
- 3
Prepare the Skewers
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning on the grill. This step can be done while the shrimp is marinating.
- 4
Assemble the Skewers
Once marinated, thread 3 shrimp onto each skewer, ensuring they are snug but not crowded.
- 5
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 400°F (200°C).
- 6
Grill the Shrimp
Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook.
- 7
Garnish and Serve
Remove the skewers from the grill and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately.
