Method

Prepare Soda Base

  1. 1

    Juicing

In a juicer, extract the juice from 4 large blood oranges to yield approximately 1 cup of blood orange juice. Alternatively, juice 4 large lemons to obtain 1 cup of lemon juice.

  2. 2

    Mixing

In a large mixing glass or pitcher, combine the blood orange juice (or lemon juice), sparkling water, and simple syrup. Stir gently to combine without losing the carbonation.

Serving the Soda

  1. 3

    Prepare Glasses

Fill each serving glass with ice to chill the soda.

  2. 4

    Pouring

Pour the soda mixture over the ice, filling each glass about three-quarters full.

  3. 5

    Garnishing

Garnish each glass with a slice of blood orange or lemon and a few fresh mint leaves for a refreshing touch.
