Brewing Instructions
- 1
Prepare Your Equipment
Start by gathering your coffee brewing equipment, which includes a coffee maker or espresso machine, a kettle for boiling water, and a coffee mug.
- 2
Measure Coffee Grounds
Measure out 18 grams of ground coffee beans. You can adjust the quantity based on your taste preference, but this is the standard amount for a strong Americano.
- 3
Heat the Water
In a kettle, heat 240 ml of water until it reaches a temperature of about 90-96°C (195-205°F). This is the optimal temperature range for brewing coffee.
- 4
Brew the Coffee
If using an espresso machine, extract a shot (about 30-40 ml) of espresso using the measured coffee grounds. If using another brewing method, brew according to the specific instructions for that method, aiming for a strong coffee concentrate.
- 5
Combine Espresso and Hot Water
In your coffee mug, pour the espresso shot and then add the hot water. The typical ratio for an Americano is 1 part espresso to 2 parts water, but you can adjust based on your taste.
- 6
Serve and Enjoy
Stir the Americano gently and enjoy it as is, or customize it with milk, cream, or sweeteners if desired.
