Prepare the Glass
Chill a martini glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside.

Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, combine blood orange juice, vodka, triple sec, lime juice, simple syrup, and ice cubes.

Shake It Up
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

Strain and Serve
Empty the ice water from the chilled glass and strain the cocktail mixture into the glass.

Garnish with a slice of blood orange on the rim of the glass.
