Method
Sorbet Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Marionberry Mixture
In a blender, combine the fresh marionberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and grated ginger. Blend until smooth.
- 2
Strain the Mixture
Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl to remove the seeds. Press down with a spatula to extract as much liquid as possible.
- 3
Make the Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine water and any remaining sugar from the strained mixture. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely. Allow to cool.
- 4
Combine and Freeze
Once the syrup has cooled, mix it with the marionberry juice. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. Transfer to a container and freeze for at least 2 hours.
