Brewing Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Botanicals
In a large bowl, combine juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root, citrus peel, cardamom pods, and cinnamon stick. Crush the spices slightly to release their oils.
- 2
Infuse the Mixture
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the prepared botanical mixture. Cover and let steep for 24 hours.
- 3
Strain the Mixture
After steeping, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean container to remove solid botanicals.
- 4
Sweeten the Gin
Add sugar to the strained liquid while it is still warm, stirring until completely dissolved.
- 5
Bottle the Gin
Transfer the infused gin to sterilized bottles and seal tightly. Let it age for at least 2 weeks for the flavors to develop.
- 6
Serve
After aging, Uncle Val's Botanical Gin is ready to be served. Enjoy it neat, on the rocks, or in your favorite cocktails.
