Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sea Bass

Heat a pan over medium heat and add a splash of oil. Season the sea bass fillet with salt and pepper. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove from the heat and let it cool slightly, then flake the fish into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Jicama

Peel the jicama and cut it into small, thin matchsticks or dice it into small cubes.

  3. 3

    Combine the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the flaked sea bass, jicama, roasted peanuts (chopped if large), Thai basil (chopped), lime juice, chili, and tamarind paste. Mix gently until all ingredients are well combined.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Lettuce Cups

Take a butter lettuce leaf, spoon a portion of the filling into the center, and wrap the leaf around the filling. Repeat with the remaining leaves and filling.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the Siam Lettuce Cups immediately with extra lime wedges on the side if desired.
