    Prepare the Ingredients

    Peel and devein the prawns. Finely chop the shallots and garlic.

    Marinate the Prawns

    In a bowl, mix the prawns with turmeric powder and a pinch of salt. Let them marinate for about 10 minutes.

    Cook the Shallots and Garlic

    Heat the vegetable oil in a wok over medium heat. Add the chopped shallots and garlic, and stir-fry until they are fragrant and slightly golden.

    Add Prawns and Tamarind

    Add the marinated prawns to the wok and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they turn pink. Then add the tamarind paste and mix well.

    Finish the Dish

    Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, ensuring the prawns are well coated with the tamarind sauce. Adjust salt to taste.

    Garnish and Serve

    Remove from heat, garnish with fresh coriander leaves, and serve hot with steamed rice.
