Beer Battered Onion Rings
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Onions
Peel the onions and slice them into 1/2-inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set aside.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the Craft Bent Arm Ale until the batter is smooth.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
- 4
Batter the Onion Rings
Dip each onion ring into the batter, ensuring it is well coated. Remove excess batter.
- 5
Fry the Onion Rings
Carefully place the battered onion rings into the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the onion rings from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve immediately.
