Pizza Dough and Toppings
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up as well.
- 4
Roll Out the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it out into a 12-inch circle.
- 5
Assemble the Pizza
Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or a baking sheet. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top, followed by oregano and black pepper.
- 6
Bake the Pizza
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- 7
Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve hot.
