Perogies

Method

Preparation of Perogies

1

Cook the Perogies

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add frozen perogies and cook according to package instructions, usually about 5-7 minutes. Drain and set aside.

2

Fry the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels. Leave some bacon fat in the skillet.

3

Sauté the Onions

In the same skillet with bacon fat, add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown. Remove from heat.

4

Make Cheese Sauce

In a saucepan, combine cheddar cheese and milk over medium heat. Stir until cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth. Add paprika, salt, and pepper to taste.

5

Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked perogies, sautéed onions, and crumbled bacon. Pour cheese sauce over the mixture and fold gently to combine.

Zoo Dip Preparation

6

Mix the Dip

In a bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, and dill weed. Mix well until smooth. Set aside.

Final Assembly

7

Serve

Plate the cheesy bacon perogies, drizzle with Zoo Dip, and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve warm.
