Begin by chilling a rocks glass or an old-fashioned glass by filling it with ice water. Set aside while preparing the cocktail.

In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine the Sazerac Rye Whiskey, Cognac, Sweet Vermouth, Benedictine, and both types of bitters.

Stir the mixture well until it is properly chilled, then strain it into the chilled glass.

Express the oils from a lemon twist over the drink and drop it in as a garnish.
