Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Chill the Glass

Begin by chilling an old-fashioned glass by filling it with ice water. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Rinse the Glass

Empty the ice water from the glass and rinse it with Herbsaint, swirling it around to coat the inside. Discard any excess.

  3. 3

    Mix the Cocktail

In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine the Sazerac Rye Whiskey, Peychaud’s Bitters, and Angostura Bitters. Stir well until chilled.

  4. 4

    Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into the prepared glass without ice.

  5. 5

    Garnish

Express the oils from a lemon peel over the drink and drop it in as a garnish.
