Preheat the Oven

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix well.

Mix Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Mix Wet Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Combine Mixtures

Fold in the rolled oats and optional chopped nuts if using.

Add Oats and Nuts

Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Bake the Mixture

Allow to cool for a few minutes before cutting into squares and serving.

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Activate Yeast

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.

Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, milk, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.

Combine Ingredients

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Knead Dough

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

First Rise

Punch down the risen dough, divide it into equal portions, and shape them into buns or rolls.

Shape Buns and Rolls

Place the shaped buns/rolls on a baking sheet, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Second Rise

Preheat Oven

Bake the buns/rolls in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Bake

Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm.

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it into a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan.

Cover the loaf with a cloth and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes, or until it has risen above the edge of the pan.

Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
